There is no shortage of horrible boss stories. If you’ve been lucky enough to avoid one so far, you can be certain you won’t escape for long. Sooner or later we all run into one.
Horrible bosses take many forms.
Have you come across the manager who has no self-control and screams and roars at everyone who reports to them?
What about the one who has no clue what he/she is doing and creates chaos with mad schemes everyone else knows will never work?
Almost everyone has run into the boss who takes credit for other people’s ideas.
Then there’s the boss who doesn’t appear to do any work but talks constantly about all he/she has achieved.
The one thing all horrible bosses have in common is that you can’t trust them. Half your day is spent trying to figure out what they will do next or what they actually meant, as you can be fairly sure it bore little resemblance to the words that came out of their mouths.
One example of such a boss is Delia.
Delia hates everyone she works with. She knows exactly what she wants in life and is angry that she hasn’t achieved it. As nothing is ever Delia’s fault, those around her must be to blame. The people who report to her are pawns she will crush, trample or destroy to get what she wants.
Have you known bosses like Delia? What would you have liked to do to them?
Much as we may dislike the horrible bosses we have run into, few of us would want to see them dead. Even less of us would be willing to commit murder.
Is this true of Delia’s staff?
